Yoshihiro Togashi was born in 1966. In 1987, he won the 34th Tezuka Award for his short story "Buttobi Straight." The following year, he joined the team of the famous magazine "Weekly Jump" where his first manga "Tonda Birthday Present" was published, followed by his first series "Tende shôwaru Cupido"
He achieved great success with "YuYu Hakusho" in 1990, a series that established his international reputation and which he drew for over 4 years. After all these successes, Yoshihiro Togashi retired for 6 months before launching a new manga, "Level E."
He remained very discreet until his resounding return in 1998 with "Hunter X Hunter." This huge success made a name for him, as much as "YuYu Hakusho" had eight years earlier.
That same year, he married Naoko Takeuchi, who is none other than Japan's most famous mangaka ("Sailor Moon"). The media at the time even headlined "Yuyu Hakusho married Sailor Moon"!
